A store holds one selling account's books. Make one for each account you sell from: an eBay UK shop and a TikTok Shop are two stores, each with its own listings, orders and balance. Your plan sets how many stores the account holds.
Creating a store
Choose Add store from the store switcher, All stores or Settings, and answer what the store is:
- Where does this store sell?
- The sales channel and its marketplace, such as eBay UK. It decides the fees StoreDeck can estimate for you.
- Store name
- What the store is called in StoreDeck.
- Business country, Currency and Time zone
- Where the business is based (it decides the tax the books keep), the money the books are kept in, and the store's own clock, so a record added late at night abroad is still dated the store's day.
- Seller type
- Asked only where the sales channel prices a business seller and a private seller differently, as eBay UK does.
- Do you keep your own stock?
- Whether StoreDeck counts the stock on your listings: Inventory and Receive stock appear under Listings, and Stock counts too where your plan includes them. You can change it later in Settings.
The new store opens straight away on its Dashboard.
The setup checklist
Until a store holds its first order, its Dashboard shows the steps to its first figures instead of a page of zeros. Each step is one you can take, the next one marked:
- Add your first order. Each sale with its fees and profit worked out. A product you have not added yet is added from the order. Import a file instead if you kept your sales in a spreadsheet.
- Add your listings. What you sell and what each costs you, one by one or from a file.
- Record your first payout. When the sales channel pays you, record it so the balance stays right.
- Record your opening balance (optional). Already holding money on the sales channel? Record it as an opening balance, so the balance here agrees with the channel's from the start. See Adjustments.
- Add your business and tax details (optional). Your VAT registration, legal name and address, the store's icon and colour, and a password, in Settings.
- Invite your team (optional). The people who help run the store, and anyone paid a share of it.
Someone who can add nothing is told the figures start with the first order instead.
Exploring a demo store
Want to look around first? The account's owner can explore a demo store from the checklist, or from the store list while the account has no store yet. It holds three months of a general shop's sample books (orders, listings, expenses, payouts and, where your plan includes them, stock counts), so every page has something to show.
A demo store is marked Demo wherever a store is named, and a line above its pages offers Add store for your own. It takes no place on your plan, is left out of All stores and of every figure for the account, sends no notifications, and only the account's owners open it, so it has no People or Feed. When you are done, delete it from its Settings in one step; a fresh one can be explored again.
Common questions
Can I change the currency later?
Yes, in Settings under General, but the figures are relabelled, never converted: £1,000 of sales would read $1,000. Change it to put right a currency chosen by mistake; books kept in another currency belong in a store of their own.
Does it connect to my eBay account?
An eBay UK store does, on Professional and above: see connecting a store. Its orders, fees, payouts and listings then arrive on their own. On any other channel you record orders and listings yourself, or import them from a file.
