Invite people, on People, brings someone onto the account in four steps. It is the owner's.
- Who. Their name and email address.
- Their role. Each role is a card saying what they can do, what they see and what they never see. See Roles.
- Stores and terms. Tick each store they work on; opened from a store's People, that store is ticked already. For a paid role, give each store its terms: a virtual assistant's, a client's or a co-owner's profit share and the day it starts; an investor's share; a processor's discount. A share is refused past what the store has left to share from that day, naming whom the rest is promised to.
- Review. One sentence says who they are, their role, their stores and their terms. Send invitation, or Add without inviting.
The invitation
They get an email naming the account, who invited them, their role, the stores, their terms on each for a paid role, what they will see and what they will not, and when the invitation runs out. Its link opens a page that says the same before they choose a password; someone who already signs in to StoreDeck is added at once and emailed a sign-in link instead. Once in, a short welcome greets them where they land: a client, an investor or a processor on their own page; anyone given one store on its Dashboard; anyone given two or more on the list of their stores, an accountant on All stores.
An invitation lasts 7 days: its button works throughout, however often it is opened, until they accept. Once it expires, Resend invitation on their page sends a new one, and Revoke invitation takes it back at once, its link with it. Someone who opens one that has run out, or was withdrawn, is offered Ask for a new invitation, which emails whoever sent it. Their row reads Invited until they accept.
Adding without inviting
Add without inviting keeps a paid person's record without a sign-in: a supplier who places your orders, say, or a client who only wants their statement by email. They read Not invited and still take a place on the plan. Invite them later from their page.
Common questions
What if every place on my plan is taken?
Invite people opens on who holds the places. Deactivate someone to free one, or move to a larger plan.
Can I invite my accountant?
Yes, with the Accountant role, given the stores whose books they keep. They hold no place on the plan. See Working with your accountant.
