What anyone earns is worked out from the orders. A payment records money leaving the business, and nothing else: what is still owed to someone is what they earned less what has gone to them. Paying people is the owner's.
Paying one person's share
On their page, Record a payment pays a virtual assistant, a client, a co-owner or an investor. Give the amount, the day it went (or, while Pending, the day it is due) and the bank statement's reference. One payment can cover several stores: it is shared across the stores they are owed on, by what is left to pay on each (more than that, by what is owed on each), and you can change each store's part. A payment can name the payout it came out of, or none. Undo on its message takes a new payment back.
A payment is Paid once it has gone. A Pending one is still owed, recorded so it is not forgotten; Mark as paid sends it, or tick it under Payments recorded as Pending when a new payment sends it too, and it is marked as paid with it.
Paying everyone at once
Pay people, on People, pays everyone with something left to pay: a line a person, in one currency at a sitting, each person's amount shared across their stores and editable store by store. Opened at a store, each line says what the person is owed on the account's other stores, which that sitting does not pay. Every person's payment is saved together or not at all, with Undo. On the 1st of each month you are told what profit shares are owed, and the notice opens People ready to pay.
Paying a funder back for goods
When an investor's or a processor's card paid for goods, you pay them back for those goods. Mark as paid (on the order, a selection on Processor orders, a delivery or their page) records one repayment: its day, the transfer's reference, a note and a file, listing the goods it covers at their cost. A repayment of an investor's goods can go in the same transfer as their share. Mark as unpaid reverses it.
Paying a funder back moves no profit: the goods were counted as a cost when they were sold. It moves your investment, which leaves out goods you still owe for.
Payments and the Lock date
A paid payment dated on or before the Lock date cannot be recorded, changed or deleted; its note and reference can. Repaying a funder for old goods is a payment made today, so the Lock date never blocks it.
