Add order, on Orders, opens the order form in the page's place. Every field is on one page, in the groups an order is put together in, and the order's figures are worked out at the foot as you type. Only the starred fields are needed to save it; the rest can be added as you learn them.
The form
- Item
- The order number (in the sales channel's own format), the date, the product and, for a product with variants, which ones and how many of each. Pick a product you list and its price and cost come with it. For a product not listed yet, type its name and choose Add as a new product: Product then reads New product, its name is in the field beside it, and it joins Listings when the order saves, under a name no other product holds. If a listed product's name differs only by a plural, the form says so, in case it is the same one.
- Price, fees and cost
- The price each, the postage the buyer paid and the unit cost. The sales channel's fee is estimated from its rate card where StoreDeck has one; if your invoice says something different, type it in and it is marked Custom.
- Funding
- Who paid for the goods (your own money, or an investor's or a processor's card) and with which payment method. Choosing a processor takes their discount off the cost.
- Buyer and delivery
- The buyer, their address and the delivery country, which decides the international fee.
- Tracking
- The courier, the tracking number, the date to dispatch by and the estimated delivery.
- Supplier
- For goods you buy in to send on: the supplier's order and tracking numbers and when they expect to deliver.
- Notes and files
- Anything worth keeping, and an invoice or a photo where your plan includes files.
Saving
Save order (Ctrl and Enter) saves it and opens it. The units it sold come off the product's stock once it is saved. Save draft keeps a new order you have not finished: a draft is off the books and in the Drafts view, but holds its place in the month's order allowance. A saved order is never turned back into a draft.
If the save is refused (a date on or before the Lock date, the month's allowance used up, no connection), the form stays open with everything as you typed it and says why.
Editing an order
Edit opens the same form on the order. Its fee, fee rate and category stay as they were until you change something that prices them. Changing the quantity or the product moves the stock by the units that changed, and Undo after a delete puts it back.
Common questions
What if I sold a variant I do not list yet?
Add it on the product's listing first, or type the product's name on the order to add a new product with it.
Why is the fee different from my invoice?
An estimate follows the rate card; your invoice is the record. Type the invoiced fee and the order keeps it.
